Comments, Why are mine not showing ?

The first time you comment on a Blog it MUST be approved by the Blog owner, after the first post your deemed to be a 'safe poster' (not spammer) and your comments will show straight away.

Does the site have a PM system?

Yes, on both the Community part and also Kent sea Angling Forums, although they dont cross over.
To send a Private Message go to the members profile and center screen youll see send message.

How do i add 'Friends'?

Go to the Members Profile Page and around the center youll see 'Add Friend', click on this and an invite will be sent to that member asking him/her to confirm your friendship.

If someones added you as a friend you will get a Notification at the top of your page informing you.

How do i get a Blog?

Once youve completed your Registration and your accounts been activated go to the top of the page and hover your cursor over 'my blogs', a dropdown box will appear and you will see an option 'create new blog'.. click on here, fill in your email, your Blogs Webname and your Blogs title, submit and thats it.

How do i load my Avatar?

Top of page hover 'My Account', a dropdown box will appear, hover 'Profile' and another dropdown box appears.. click on 'Edit Profile' then on the profile page click on change Avatar. It then gives you the Usual file searching options so you can choose your picture. Theres no need for resizing as once the pictures uploaded it asks you to crop your picture. Basically center/stretch the frame on the part of the picture you wish to use and click 'Finish Cropping', Your picture will then start showing.
If no avatar is uploaded you are given a generated image as default.

How do i put a post into a certain Category?

Once youve wrote your Post in the text editor scroll down and on the right youll see your Categorys with Check boxes, tick whatever box you want your post published in.
If no box is checked your post will appear in your 'Default' Category.

I dont know how to build a blog, will you do it for me ?

Yes, although i do ask you to at least try, once it clicks its really quite simple.

Is my Blog Public or Private? Are there any Privacy settings on there?

You can Set yout Blog to be either Public or Private, go to your Dashboard, scroll down on the left untill you see 'General', Click on 'Privacy' and check whatever box you want. Be warned, if you set your Blog as Private Google etc wont be able to pick it up so you will be cut off from the Web.

If you have your Blog as public but want to write a Private Post this can be set on the right hand side of the screen next to your text editor.

Plugins, How to use them?

First you need to activate, to do this go to your Dashboard, scroll down and on the left you will see 'Plugins'..... click on 'Installed' and go down the list checking the plugins you require. At the bottom theres a bulk actions box, use the dropdown box and click activate.
Some plugins may require further setting up, some go into your Widgets, some stay on your Dashboard.
Once a month i check for new plugins and download them, keep an eye out for any new plugins on a regular basis.

Plugins are add on features for your blog. These can be in the form of a widget or as a Dashboard extra... or both.

Posting, How do i do it ?

Go to your Dashboard, scroll down to 'Posts', 'add new' and write your post in your text editor. You may be able to bypass this by clicking on 'New post' if your sidebar is set to show it. Some themes support front page posting similar to Facebook.
You can also post on the main Home page by looking in the 2nd sidebar and clicking 'New post'.

Social Network Buttons, Can i link my Blog to Facebook etc?

Yes, theres a few plugins that support this but im yet to suss them out. Activate the plugins in your dashboard and go to the plugin developers site, these will give you instructions.

Themes, How to change them?

Scroll down to 'Appearance', click on 'Themes, find one you like and activate it.. simples !!
Some themes have different options, custom headers etc

What are Groups?

Groups are there for members to form, they can be used for clubs or just for a bit of fun. Groups can also have their own Blog pages which some might wish to use as their club pages etc. Once again these can be set as private or public.

What are the 'Forums'?

Forums are another form of member messaging. These are Generally listed threads with comments in a board style. Kentishthames has group Forums plus we also have Kent Sea Angling Forums which will take a seperate registration. People generally find forums faster, easier and more interactive than blogs.

What's my 'Wire'?

Your 'Wire' is similar to your 'Wall' on Facebook.. Its a public profile messaging system. You can leave Status updates by clicking up near your name at the top of the page, visitors leaving 'Wire' messages will leave them towards the bottom of your page.

Whats the Difference between a Page and a Category?

A Category is a section where you can add your posts.. (example) Catch Reports etc.
A Page is a fixed item.. (example) Welcome, Gallery etc.

Widgets, how to use them?

To use your Widgets go to your Dashboard, scroll down and on the left you will see 'Appearance', click on Widgets and simply drag and drop whatever Widgets you want in your Sidebars.
Some themes offer multiple sidebars plus you can fit Widgets in your Header and Footer in some Themes as well.
